I thoroughly enjoyed this read, the bleakness of the outback set against a crime committed years ago and the current situations made for an inviting read.
It wasn't very fast paced, but a great mysterious page turner.
The writing style was captivating, and I found myself wondering at why the crimes had been committed and were they linked with the past.
Harper set the scenes well with the droughts, bleakness of living somewhere remote, although in a town setting and the mentality of the residents, with outsiders or those that didn't fit in.
Quite a dark read with a locked room mystery feel to it. Quite claustrophobic.
I wasn't expecting to enjoy the book as much as I did when I started it, but I personally found it addictive reading and read it within a few days over the Christmas period making it my first read of 2018.
