At the beginning of this book there were times reading that I didn't really engage, It was the narrative of Amber, she was an interesting character and I sensed we were not being told everything, well it does say sometimes she lies...
Reading this book was like looking at a picture on a wall, you knew wasn't quite straight, but as you went up to straighten it, it would tilt slightly the other way.
So you weren't guessing, but you were not sure of what facts you were drip fed as Amber comes out of her coma was the truth, and if not the truth, then what was?
After settling into the story, I wouldn't say I enjoyed reading it, It was like an itch under your skin you just had to scratch and it really was uncomfortable.
This is what made the book as it was and so good. While reading it you are kept on track, although it is so twisty, you really are taken on a journey with Amber. The question is are you brave enough to follow her and find out?
One clever, deceptive read of the year so far.
