On my to read list this year, was to read Robin's highly acclaimed Lasser series, however I haven't as yet managed it. On the plus side, Robin has written a new series featuring Marnie Hammond.
I started this book just before going out on Sunday, and returned to it and didn't put it down until I finished. I love crime fiction, and police procedure books so tend to not do this so often as I once did. There was something about the characters, crimes and written word that had me riveted.
Marnie's character was brilliant, and I loved her connection with Luke, back story and humanity. She was tough and tenacious where she needed to be.
The main storyline was interesting and the character from my perspective was dark, evil and horrific. A true baddie... which is just what you want in a crime thriller.
Robin has written a story full of modern day crimes and there were some elements that were purely brilliant that were weaved into the main story, however hard it was to read about. He really did take my breath away, and especially towards the end of the book with the plotlines closing in together.
I am so looking forward to book two and definitely starting the Lasser series in between.
