From as far back as I remember I wanted to be a mum, two kids, prefer to have a girl first, I don't know why, I just did.
I was lucky, I got my wish, I can't even begin to contemplate how my life would be without my children. Reading Kat's story of trying to have a child with her husband Nick was emotional.
Then being given what you feel is your last lifeline, a child, that someone you were friends with can help you. By being a surrogate mum.
From here on in we are drawn in to the dark and wonderfully descriptive relationship between Kat and Lisa, oh, how I do love an unreliable narrator. Nick and Richard, were brilliant as they played off the intense nature of Kat and Lisa's relationship and came with their own back story, ideals and made for interesting concepts as to what or why they behaved the way they did.
I had so many thoughts, twists and turns with this read. I couldn't quite keep still with an urge to read on and reveal one more part of the plot, which did happen, but not quickly and not as I expected.
Louise Jensen has given us a gripping psychological thriller that kept me guessing and even at the end I wasn't sure of the outcome. A powerful read on so many levels, which I loved, a book to get lost in and keep you wondering, brilliant.
