Jenna requires a heart transplant after a short illness, and afterwards her life changes and not only for the better as she had hoped. She begins to have dreams and experiences of her donor Callie.
enna sets off to find out what happened to Callie and begins to feel fear and paranoia.
I have heard of cellular memory before and found this a fascinating subject. The way Louise used this as the premise of her story was interesting and thought provoking.
It was an unusual subject to have a psychological thriller based on, and one that worked extremely well. I found myself routing for Jenna and wanting to know how Callie had died, and if some or all of what was driving Jenna was truth, or her own fears to live her new life.
A page turner of a book with likeable main characters and an intriguing plot, that kept it's suspense and enough twists to keep you wanting to read just one more chapter.
