There is so much to love about this book.
1 The Cover, WOW...this is a book to buy for the cover alone,
2 The title, come on....really, that doesn't grab you?
3 Malcolm's third in the series of Cyril and Owen, these have been published previously, hence the powerful impact of bringing three new cracking crime series out one after the other.
The first in the series being Only the Dead, Second, Hell's Gate.
I have just finished Flesh Evidence, and adding my review straight away, although can't publish until Blog Tour Date.
Well, What a story, yet again Malcolm brings in aspects of crime, that then are twisted and weaved into plotlines that are not only unique, clever, they are yet again compelling and horrific.
While reading, I thought I had it all sewn up, knew what was going on and why, and did I?
I am not saying, what a tangled web of lies, deceit and hear felt crimes are at the centre part of this story. How beautifully written the prose and Malcolm brings in aspects of life, you may not know, and teaches you in such a way, that is clever.
Cyril and Owen, get better and better, there humour and relationship, balances the book to perfection, and Liz - we find out a bit more about her. All this happens without detracting from the story.
Flesh Evidence, is a must read, and I couldn't put it down, reading it within a day, and a story that will stay with me for a long while.
How are the jars of honey connected to the crimes? Why using the Honey? Where are the children being kept? Who is doing this? slowly, slowly all comes clear...but like the honey, secrets are held within....
How Malcolm does it, started off with such a strong book in Only The Dead, raised the bar in Hell's Gate, then managed to knock that off the spot for top book. This series deserves not only to be read, but savoured.
5 star rating review from Bookstormer.
Being awarded Best of the series so far.
