Beckett is back on the Greek Island of Corfu, 10 years after the British Police Officer had put Chrystos Spiros in Prison for his heinous crimes.
Beckett is older, jaded and back for a quiet life, how wrong could he be?
A young girl is about to be married and has gone missing, a day later the body of a girl is found. Is it the same girl? If not at the crimes connected?
D.I. Lee harper is brought in to help Beckett with the case. He is not welcomed with open arms, and has to prove himself to Beckett. They are both brilliant character’s in their own way, and when they work together.
Angela has created the prefect teen party feel to the Greek Island. This is all steeped within pages of intrigue and mystery as to whom is involved and why. As the plot thickens I found myself trying to read faster and outpace myself while immersed in the story and trying to work out the plots.
A well-paced page stunningly page turning thriller of a read, That kept me captivated with not only the story, but the writing style. Angela has a poetic way with words.
“The beach was a delicate golden crescent scattered with spears of rocks that stuck up from the sand like dragon’s teeth. The two headlands leaned in towards each other, perfect twins protecting the bay making the entrance barely wider than a channel. The sea was peacock blue and as motionless as glass. A miniature paradise.”
Beckett and Harper make a brilliant team and I hope there is at least a follow on book, if not a series.
