My Thoughts

We are catching up with DI Hamilton in the third instalment of this series by Tara Lyons, book one being In The Shadows and Book 2 No Safe Home. This can be read as a stand alone, but to get the full back story of Hamilton, I suggest reading them in order.

Having read and enjoyed Tara's previous books in the series, I was honoured to be invited on to   the blog tour for Deadly Friendship, and I am just loving the cover!

For me this has an edgier and more claustrophobic feel to the writing and plot lines, a group of friends tied together with a secret. from the outset I got a chill that didn't let up until the last few words...

Hamilton also has links with a past friend and we find out what impact this has on Hamilton as the story unfolds and how they come to terms with their own issues.

The storylines wove exceptionally well together and with the friendships from the Uni friends and the bonds they had then and now, had such a realism that came across superbly, and I was left wondering if it wasn't for the secrets they held within their group, would they be friends now?

I was left with working out the conundrums I was reading and found myself entangled within the lies and subterfuge. A very engrossing read, with poingent points of how friendships can either feed us or starve us from the life we should be living, which leaves you with a sense of unease.
