In Your Name (Mechanic Book 2) By Rob Ashman

Those That Remain (Mechanic Book 1) published by Bloodhound Books on 22.6.17 I highly recommend you read this, before In Your Name.

Police detective Lucas has become consumed with tracking down the deranged killer, known as Mechanic, and bringing the murderer to justice. Nothing else matters, not even his wife. His marriage is falling apart. Mechanic has not killed for eight months and the trail has gone cold, then Lucas receives a terrifying letter. In a desperate bid to reignite the case, he tries to convince his boss to mount an operation in Baton Rouge where the letter was posted. But was the letter really sent by Mechanic? Not knowing where to turn, with his marriage in turmoil and his career on the rocks, Lucas begins to spiral out of control. When Mechanic meets the head of a drug smuggling cartel the situation takes a grave turn. Meanwhile, a bizarre set of murders are taking place in Vegas and Detective Rebecca Moran is put on the case. She will stop at nothing to make a name for herself. Is there a link between the murders and Mechanic? Can Lucas apprehend the killer this time or will Mechanic remain one step ahead?

My Thoughts

Thank goodness I didn't have long to wait to read the second instalment of The Mechanic Series.
if you liked Those That Remain, this is meatier, grittier and spine tingling alarming.

We catch up with Lucas and The Mechanic, but in different circumstances and The Mechanic is unleashing chaos and bloodshed wherever the trail leads.

I absolutely loved this and found it difficult to put the book down. The plot lines are at times stomach churning, but not overly so. Well maybe they are for you, but to tell the story they are sublime. You are so caught up with Lucas and where The Mechanic leads, he follows.

In this book, there is a greater insight into The Mechanic leaving you with a feeling of understanding the character even if you don't condone it. This is one of the characters you aren't supposed to like, but for various reasons you do.

Rob has excelled himself within the pages of In Your Name, an absolutely cracking and enthralling read, with the book setting in Vegas it was perfectly placed for the crimes and brought an added dimension to the sleaze and retribution.

The writing style is dark, delicious and perfection.
