I was always an avid reader as a child, going to the library, reading on the reading train and taking as many books home as possible.
My reading throughout my life has fluctuated with how busy I have been, so varied from books, to magazines, to both, to back again. Genres changed across the years too.
With running a business from home ( well actually, just about to change careers), I found I couldn’t always go out, with the invention of the kindle. This meant that I could read and download books as and when. I do still love paperbacks and hardbacks, but the kindle is great for ease and I have found so many new independent authors.
So, with teens, a house to run, cats, a husband and a business…I read to escape, imagine and enjoy another world. I don’t watch much television.
What I do is read, what I would like the blog to do is give something back to the author’s, to shout about their book, to share what I have read with others.
My favourite Genre is Psychological thrillers, but I read a broad range of books, and mix them up as I go along.
I recently met Anthea Bell, who has translated so many books, including Asterix. What a whole new aspect of reading that taught me, I am going to more and more book launches, and events. I was lucky enough to be able to attend Harrogate this year, I didn’t know two years ago such things existed. So as well as reading books to escape, I am escaping to book events.
This is what I want to share with you through the blog, my reading life… I am happy to leave reviews on Goodreads, Amazon.co.uk and Amazon.com under the name of Bookstormer.
I have met so many fantastic people, and through this have just started working for Bloodhound Books Publishing Company, A dream come true…
